NOPD Searching for Suspect in Identity Theft

The NOPD is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection with identity theft, possession of stolen things and access device fraud.

On December 9, 2022, the victim reported to officers in the Eighth District that he was robbed of his wallet, cellphone and watch.  Later he reported that several unauthorized purchases were illegally charged to his credit cards.

Through investigation, officers identified Myasia D. Johnson (pictured, black female DOB: 04/30/1995) as the alleged perpetrator.  She was last known to be driving a white four door 2021 Audi A5 (pictured, with Texas license plate: PGH1506).

Johnson is wanted on one count of one count of felony identity theft, illegal possession of stolen things, and one count of access device fraud.

Armed Houston taqueria customer justified in shooting armed robbery suspect under Texas law: legal expert

An armed robbery suspect was shot dead by an armed customer in a Houston taqueria last week in a shooting that one criminal defense attorney in the area told Fox News Digital appears to have been justified under Texas law.

A person is justified in using force against another person when and to the degree he or she reasonably believes force is immediately necessary to protect him against the other person’s use of force,” Houston criminal defense attorney Sean Buckley told Fox News Digital regarding Texas law and how it relates to a controversial shooting captured on video last weekend of an armed robber being shot dead by a customer in a Houston restaurant.

The suspect, later identified as 30-year-old Eric Eugene Washington, walked into the store pointing what appeared to be a gun at customers, demanding their money and collecting their wallets.
